Itinerary

In the morning, we will depart from the city of Huaraz to the city of Chiquian (3,400 m.s.n.m), where we will have the first view of the HuayHuash Mountain Range. We will continue our way through Llamac Town until reach to Cuartelhuain located more than 4,150 m.a.s.l, approximately 5 hours from Huaraz City. We will raise our first camp and it will be the startpoint. Overnight.

Early in the morning, after our first breakfast in the camp, we start our trek until we reach Qaqanan Pass at 4,700 m.a.s.l. (3 Hrs.) From here we can appreciate some snow-capped mountains such as Ninashanca and Rondoy, and lagoons such as El Pucacocha. Then, we will descend to the shores of the Mitucocha lagoon at 4,250 m.a.s.l. below Jirishanca and Rondoy snowy mountains. We continue up to the second pass Punta Carhuac until we reach the beautiful Carhuacocha Lake where we will overnight.

Trek time approx. 6-7 Hrs.

After breakfast, we will start our third day following the course of the river and then we will ascend to Carnicero pass (4,600 masl) where we will have excellent views of El Yeraupaja and Siula snowy mountains. We will continue until we reach Huayhuash (4,100 m.a.s.l). Dinner and overnight.

Trek time approx: 6-7 Hrs.

 We start the day with a nutritious breakfast to our excursion. The trail will bring us closer to the southern of the HuayHuash Mountain Range, we will ascend to HuayHuash pass to delight ourselves with a fantastic view of Raura Mountain Range and on the opposite side with El Trapecio. Then we will descend by the shore of the lagoon until we reach Putcka thermal baths and we will set up our campsite in Viconga (4,407 m.a.s.l.). Overnight.

Trek Time approx: 5-6 Hrs.

After breakfast, we leave for Cuyoc Pass (5000 m.a.s.l.), the highest point of the trek from where we will see the splendor of Cuyoc, Puscanturpa, Trapecio, Siula, Yerupaja, Sarapo and Jurao snowy mountain. After taking good photos and resting for a while, we began the descent towards Huanacpatay Valley and set up our campsite at 4,400 masl. Overnight

Trek Time approx. : 6-7 Hrs.

After breakfast, we will start walking through the vally of Huanacpatay (3,900 masl) to the isolated town of Huayllapa and we can observe Diablo Mundo snowy mountain. Free time to buy personal items. From here, we will walk through a very narrow valley until we reach Huatiaj Grass Valley (4,300 masl). Overnight.

Trek Time approx: 5-6 Hrs.

After breakfast we start our hike, overcoming two steps. From Huatiaj we will go towards Tapush pass (4,700 masl) and during the journey we will enjoy panoramic view of Diablo Mudo Mountain and Susucocha lake. We will continue towards Punta Yaucha pass (4,800 masl) from where we will have impressive views of snow-capped mountains: Rondoy, Ninashanca, Jirishanca, Yerupaja Chico, Yerupaja grande, Rasac and Siula. Then we will descend to the beautiful Jahuacocha lagoon (4,100 m.s.n.m) to set up our campsite. In the afternoon we will enjoy the views and short walks around the lagoon. Overnight

Trek time approx: 5-6 Hrs.

After our last breakfast we start walking towards Pampa Llamac Pass (4300 masl). From this place we can see the snow-capped mountains of the Huayhuash Mountain Range. Then we descend to the small town of Llamac (3300 masl). In this town our transport awaits us to transfer us to the city of Huaraz. Trek Time approx: 5-6 Hrs.
